History
Shawn Thorton was an evil ol' bastard, and Kelly didn't know the man that is his biological father, all he knows of him is the name that he bestowed upon his son. Kelly was born in the later part of May in 1986, there parents marriage was on the rocks and it wasn't long after Kelly was born that his father left his mother, and as far as he knows he was never heard from again. Regardless, the man stuck his son with a name, a name that has shaped Kelly into the hardened man that he would grow up to be. As the years went by and the neighborhood boys would tease the lad for not just having a girls name but for not having a father and also being fairly poor, Jackie made a decision and she moved the two of them to America. A fresh start is what they would need and a friend of hers from primary school lived in a place called Illinois, and Jackie and her son could happily stay with them. So with what little possessions they had, Kelly and his mum made the long journey to America, and wound up becoming citizens of this land that promised so much.

Over the next few years Jackie established herself as a cook and a chef and soon found herself working in a restaurant while little Kelly started into the public education system in Chicago. Unfortunately for Kelly the kids in America were just as cruel as the kids in Ireland, the name Kelly was thought of as weird for a boy and the cruelty of tiny children continued until one day in the third grade when Kelly decided it was high time to fight back. On the playground one day a boy named James Harwood was teasing him about his name, his accent, and with one last comment about his mother the boy hit the ground with Kelly on top, slugging away at any inch of body he could find. He was suspended from school for two weeks, but upon his return it seemed no one had anything funny to say about his accent or his first name.

Life would continue this way for many years, no one would bother him about his name and he started to make actual friends with people who weren't that afraid of him, and he allowed some to grow close. It was these close friends that he let tease him about his name, but they never went to far, for they knew where the name came from and how he hated it. In his high school years Kelly stayed in school, mostly because of shop class and auto mechanics, it was something that he found he was very adapt at doing. He enjoyed working with his hands and the feel of grease between his fingers and the sound of a finely tuned engine. It was his sophomore year that he bought his '69 Camaro and he spent the better part of two years rebuilding it, it wound up being his graded project for the length of his senior year in auto mechanics. Though being a motor head wasn't his only function, he also found a new love in music. While he didn't find any thrill in playing in the high school band, he did find that rock n roll and music in general got him on a new high. He picked up a bass one day and hadn't stopped playing it since.

These days Kelly is a certified mechanic, he specializes in older models and does his best to restore them to their former glory, he hopes that he can make cars new again, much like his Camaro. He has also joined a band by a slight stroke of luck. He was at a show one night and was listening to one of the bands, it was the only band that was any good on the bill and made friends with their guitarist and their singer. When their bassist quit they asked Kelly to fill in for awhile until they could find someone to be a permanent solution to their problem. It took about a week before they realized that Kelly was the solution, having been able to play anything and everything they could throw at him. Kelly is happy with his life, his mothers happy, he's happy, and while his accent is more south Boston then Irish these days, his only grievance is that he doesn't know his father. He would like to go back to Ireland one of these days so he could find the man....and beat the living hell out of him for giving him a girls name.
